Air Show Support Empty Air Show Support

Post by Poobah Wed Oct 31, 2007 12:54 am

Anybody have any experience with supporting an air show? (flight line marshalling, crowd control etc)
My squadron will be doing this next weekend (Nov. 10-11) and I wanted some input/any useful advice to make it run smoother.

Um...A very limited amount but enough to say I know how to do it.

Advice:

1. Good Communication
Keepys you guys infomred
2. Know what they want you to do!
If you know exactly what your supposed to do, there wont be as much " uh what do we do know".
3. Dont walk into Aircraft PERIOD! lol
4. Have fun.

And your good to go!

We had the event this weekend. Everything went pretty well, one thing we could have used was more people. But I guess with a squadron of 40, you can't expect too much. We had about 12 people participate Saturday, and about 6 or 7 on Sunday.

(btw, no one walked into an airplane, so the mission was a success!) Smile

No, it was a Veteran's Day fly-in at Monroe Regional Airport. Not a bad show. They had a P-51, a DC-3, a Dauntless, and about 10 other aircraft.
